The 16th & 17th November saw heavy rain across much of the UK, with Sussex especially badly hit. In Burgess Hill homes were flooded and many road made impassable.
While residents complained about drain maintenance and excessive new developments replacing areas that would have previously soaked up more rain, it is clear that this is only a taste of things to come.
The longer we avoid major cuts in emissions, the more we will have to rely on 'adaption'.
We will soon see that, as many have pointed out, the cost of adaption will exceed that of making the push to net zero.
