Mims Davies

Conservative MP for Mid Sussex

She states, ‘We all agreed that this is the issue of our time’. Yet Mims’s record on climate change and biodiversity issues has been mixed.

Locally

Concern about the pressure that proposed housing allocations for Mid Sussex would place on local green spaces, habitats, water resources, and infrastructure has prompted Mims to contact the Secretary of State on three occasions in the past 2 years.

And in 2021 climate issues, for example highlighting government activity in relation to the G7, COP 26 and the Environment Bill, featured in Mims’s articles and her weekly column in the Mid Sussex Times on several occasions. In September she also supported the Great Big Green Week locally.

However…

since then, although the news on climate change has become increasingly desperate and the lack of follow through on G7 and COP 26 commitments ever clearer, there has been virtually no coverage of climate and biodiversity issues at local or national level in Mims’s public communications this year.
